1. What did you do this past week?

For this class, I finished project #4 and we did pretty well in the exercises thanks to my awesome group. Project Darwin is a pretty good assignment for this class in my opinion because it deals with a lot of objects and it makes me think carefully about my design before actually writing any code.

2. What’s in your way?

For now, I don’t think there’s any major thing in my way. However, the coming week seems busier for me considering the workload of other classes. Other than that, I’m still debating about taking classes this summer or waiting until the Fall.

3. What will you do next week?

For next week I’ll try to register for Summer classes to see if I get in the classes that I wanted. For this class, I will focus more on the material in class so that I can do well on the exercise because that is what I’m worried about the most.

4. What did you think of Paper 12. Why extends is evil?

I think Paper #12 flow great with the previous papers. The idea of flexible code is highlighted for Object-Oriented design. It is reasonable to avoid extending and utilizing the interface instead. However, I found those provided examples are a little hard to follow.

5. What was your experience with iteration, initializations, and vector?

We have learned a lot about iteration and I feel confident with it. For me, the ideas of different types of constructors are pretty hard to wrap my head around. Also, I hope that that exercise could be easier for us because I usually have a hard time with it.

6. What made you happy this week?

I got to play volleyball with my team at a 4 teams scrimmage night to prepare for a tournament make me happy this week.

7. What’s your pick-of-the-week or tip-of-the-week?

My pick-of-the-week this week is seeing Vinfast — A Electric Vehicle automaker from entering the US market. Even though I don’t think it could compete with the big EV like Tesla, it is still great news for the EV industry in general and especially for a Viet people like myself.

Thank you for reading!
